Laptop Distribution Scheme for Upcoming Intermediate Students

LUCKNOW: Over 24 lakh students who wrote the exams for class XII in UP this year were motivated all the more to be successful. While good scores are always an achievement, Samajwadi Party-led state government's announcement to give free laptops and tablet PCs to those who clear the Classes X and XII exams last year was an added incentive. This year's class XII pass percentage is the highest in 10 years. There are doubts, however, over whether the Samajwadi Party in the second year of governance announce similar sops for students who pass out this year as they did last year. There has been no official word from state government on distribution of laptops for those who passed out in 2013 yet. No wonder, laptops can't be distributed to those who passed out this year on the basis of the policy decision taken last year. The government order dated July 5, 2012 clearly mentions that laptops and tablets for those who pass Class X exams, would be distributed...
